  • WAGNER Rail signs cooperation agreement with ITP Rail Associates Inc. in the USA as of January 1, 2023
  • Fire detection technology from WAGNER will provide fire protection in rail vehicles in North America in the future

Haar/Munich. WAGNER Rail GmbH is cooperating with ITP Rail Associates Inc. in the USA as of January 1, 2023. Along with the North American company, the fire protection solution provider for rail vehicles is supporting the development of the markets in the USA, Canada and Mexico as part of the partnership.

During initial conversations at InnoTrans 2022 in Berlin, WAGNER Rail was able to convince ITP Rail of its holistic fire protection solutions for rail vehicles. As a result, initial cooperation negotiations took place and the partnership between the two companies could officially come into effect at the beginning of 2023. As a sales partner for European manufacturers in the North American rail industry, ITP Rail Associates Inc. cooperates with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the rail industry, system suppliers and operators to develop the right products and solutions for customers. In doing so, the company provides technical sales and distribution services in North America and assists its partners in taking projects from proposal to delivery. "ITP Rail is looking forward to working with WAGNER Rail GmbH. We are proud to be able to offer our customers in the North American rail market products and solutions from the technology leader in customized fire protection solutions," agree the Managing Directors of ITP Rail Associates Inc, Erik Frenzel and Asa Briggs.

The initial focus of the cooperation is on the provision of suitable fire detection technology. With a combined use of aspirating smoke detection systems and smoke detectors, the offer optimally covers currently expected market needs of the target markets. The standalone solutions meet the NFPA 130 fire protection standard required in the USA.

"The market for fire protection in rail vehicles in the USA and Canada is developing steadily. We see a tendency in the future to not only monitor the technical areas in trains, but also to holistically equip the passenger areas with fire protection technology," Briggs predicts. Dr. Markus Müller, Managing Director of WAGNER Rail GmbH, shares a similar view: "For us, the cooperation with ITP Rail in the USA is an important step in the further development of the North American market. We see great potential in the markets of the USA, Canada and Mexico. In particular, the large government investment programs in the USA and Canada offer optimal conditions in the countries for the realization of holistic fire protection solutions in rail vehicles," Dr. Müller further explains.
