Stand-alone technology in focus

10-08-2022

Haar / Munich. WAGNER Rail will be presenting its individual fire protection solutions for rail vehicles at InnoTrans 2022, the leading international trade fair for transport technology, from September 20 to 23 in Berlin. In doing so, the fire protection expert for global rail transport is focusing on innovative systems for new vehicles as well as retrofit projects. At the joint Swissrail stand in Hall 2.2, Stand 250, WAGNER Rail will be providing insights into standalone systems - autonomous fire protection systems that are directly connected to the Train Control and Management System (TCMS) - among other things, and will be showing successfully implemented customer projects around the world.

At the 13th InnoTrans 2022, more than 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries will present their products, solutions and systems in 42 halls. In addition, the new types of vehicles from train manufacturers such as Siemens, Alstom and Stadler, all of which use products and solutions from WAGNER Rail, can be seen on the approximately 3,500 running meters of rails on the open-air and track area. In the vehicles where fire protection is installed, the solution often comes from WAGNER Rail. In the development of innovative fire protection solutions for rail transport, the focus today is primarily on standalone solutions. "These systems are equally suitable for new vehicles and retrofits of existing vehicles. They are quick, easy and cost-effective to install," explains Dr. Markus Müller, Managing Director of WAGNER Rail. Both TITANUS® air sampling smoke detectors and smoke switches (multi-criteria detectors) with SIL and without SIL certifications are suitable for this purpose. "InnoTrans is the meeting place for the rail community. We look forward to numerous personal discussions and opportunities to exchange information about our innovative solutions, such as our TITANUS® C-Pro series with a hose system specially adapted for rail transport. Visitors to the trade show will also learn how our solutions work in practice from our reference projects," Dr. Müller continues. These include, for example, the SOB Traverso, which runs the picturesque Gotthard route between Switzerland and Italy, the long-distance trains of Czech Railways and the new KISS SBB double-decker trains.

In addition, WAGNER Rail develops and installs solutions for firefighting with water mist as well as fire extinguishing with aerosol and inert gases for various types of rail vehicles. In doing so, the fire protection expert always works in accordance with the latest European and worldwide standards, such as the recently revised UNI 11565:2021, which is responsible for Italy.
